PHS packet mode data communication will be the trend for the PHS development,and it' s also the topic this thesis focus on.The research of the subject begin with the PHS packet mode data communication system currently used in Japan,clarify the network architecture,the basic features,performance indicators for the PHS packet data system,analyze the message types and data formats supported by the core protocol——PPMP in the detail. On this basis,1.Proposed the realization approach for our own PHS packet data communication system,addressed how to realize PHS packet server,the core of the PHS packet data system,with a lower cost,introduced the composition of its core module, and the hardware and software platform being used,discussed the decision-making process for equipment selection and kinds of interface to connect to the PSTN network.2.Introduced our own PHS packet data server from billing functions,customer administration,system configuration,alarm administration,and performance administration aspects;Considering the domestic network environment is different from Japanese one,proposed the roaming solution which is absolutely necessary to develop PHS packet data services in large-scale;At the last,summary and forecast to PHS packet data service was made from the necessity,supported applications,and development foreground angles.
